- I guarantee that CBS will cut away to shots of Dell Curry in the stands at least 9 times during the Davidson vs. Wisconsin game this weekend. I think, "Did you know that Stephen Curry is Dell Curry's son?" insight has surpassed, "Did you know that Duke and North Carolina's campuses are only 8 miles apart?" on my list of infuriating things commentators say to sound informative. I'm putting the Dell Curry cut-away shot over/under at 7.5, I'm obviously taking the over on this one. If anyone else wants to put action on this, I'm completely game.
1020 & 8101
i'll take the under on this one.
ReplyDeleteAlrighty then, I'll take the over. If this game is interesting and Curry is having a great game (the only way this game is interesting), they will show shot after shot of Dell Curry. If this game is not interesting, they will have to show filler and they will be telling about how great a story Davidson was and how they made it this far on Stephen's back and then they would be showing Dell over and over again.
ReplyDeleteIt's a win, win situation for Dell... and his new chain of restaraunts, Taco Dell's Curry House (a fusion of mexican and indian).
Phil...can you and Annie keep a running count of this for me? I know that the game might get intense and you might not care to keep a running count of Dell Curry cut-a-ways, but I have to work until 9'ish so I'm going to miss most of it. Go Cats!
ReplyDeletei'm afraid i can't because i'm going to miss the first ten minutes or so of the game. plus, cbs has been pretty flighty this year, so who knows when they're going to cut away to the other 7:00 game.
ReplyDeletei assume, matt, that being in china and all, you can't do it either. so i'll see if a friend of mine can do it.
to clarify: the cutaway does not include stephen's mom. if they show them both together, then fine. but if the focus is clearly his mom, and dell curry's arm is in the shot, that doesn't count.
You're 100% correct, shots of Stehpen's mom do not count. Dell has to be in the frame either directly, or in a two-shot with Mrs. Curry. I've never been so nervous for a bet that I have nothing riding on in my life.
ReplyDeleteEasily over 7.5
I think I set a darn good line myself.
i think the line is pretty low. i'll settle for 7.5, but i wouldn't be opposed to changing it to 8.5.
ReplyDeleteYou were taking the under and now you want the line raised?!?!? That only shows that you're not confident in taking the under with the line at 7.5. This is the most exciting and interesting line/wager I've ever proposed. I'm still taking the over, saying that it will happen 9 or more times. And Matt is right, if this game is close in the end and/or Curry goes off...we could be talking 18 or more times.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the silence on my end over here, it's called sleep.
ReplyDeleteMan, I never thought an over/under on shots of Dell Curry would get so exciting. I mean Dell Curry. Anyway, I relate this father/son duo to Oklahoma State's John Lucas III and how often they showed his dad during their run in 2004, I swear his dad, not even playing in the game, got more camera time then some of the other OSU players...playing in the game.
Oh man, I am excited, I have no way of tracking it, but I am excited.
Okay, I'll be the first to leave a comment, I believe I lost and I lost pretty bad. I was able to get my hands on my friends slingbox, so I watched the whole game (off and on with kid interruptions) and I did not see 1 Dell Curry shot, not 1. Now there is a chance that he wasn't at the game, but I can't imagine that is the case. Wow, CBS actually surprised me, they actually didn't go with the obvious shots for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThe only person that I saw them focusing on in the crowd was Lebron James (I saw at least 3 shots of him), oh well, good job Phil, I give you props. And, if we ever meet, I'll buy you a deep sea double.
I love how much the comments have flowed lately. Thanks guys. I responded to this whole section with a post, so I'll move on.
ReplyDeleteI miss you Dell Curry.
